On this page you will find photos of some custom built storage lofts.  These lofts can be built in just about any shape and size.  Our standard loft is typically placed along the wall over your garage door which is otherwise wasted space.  It spans all the way across the garage and in most cases will not need any support in the middle.  I normally recommend  that the loft be 4 feet deep if your ceiling height is less than about 12 feet.  If your ceiling is more than 12 feet you may be able to use a loft that is 8 feet deep as you will have enough head room to walk around on the loft to access your things.  I will be adding pictures here as I can so please check back often for more samples.

The pictures below are of a 8 foot deep loft that spans the 20 foot dimension over the garage door. This one was built in Huntersville.  This example takes up no floor space and does not interfere with walking or parking vehicles.  This is a good example of a 'typical' 2-car garage installation.  The overall ceiling height here was about 16 feet and the height above the loft was just over 5 feet which makes this easy to access while the clearance height underneath the loft was just over 8 feet.

This next loft was built in a 3 car garage with 12 foot ceilings.  It is 8 feet deep and spans over 30 feet.  This added almost 250 square feet of storage space to the house.  As you can see here windows are not a problem for me to work around.

This next loft was actually built in a large metal building.  It spans 20 feet with no center support and is 4'-4" deep adding about 86 square feet and cost just $350.  This is a great example of a basic loft that can hold upwards of 3000 pounds.

The loft below is built into an alcove in the side of a garage.  it is not huge but has about 6 feet of clearance above it and was designed specifically to stack boxes on for long term storage.  It can hold up to 2500 pounds safely.  there is plenty of room to walk underneath and proved enough storage to clear out the work area underneath and then some.

The photos below show a pair of lofts I built a few some time ago and went back recently to build more shelves.  The existing lofts are the ones with the items already being stored and the empty shelves are the newest addition.  This gives you a good look at how much stuff you really can put on the lofts.  This garage only has a ceiling height of 10'-8" and is a single car garage so the amount of storage in here is really impressive and should add a fair amount of value to the home when it comes time to sell.
